Stolen Wheels & Tires 1 Image
In November of 2009, Columbia Police investigated a report of stolen wheels and tires, from the lot of Joe Machens Auto, located at 500 Vandiver Drive, in Columbia. Wheels, tires, and bolts were all stolen from two Mercedes, two Cadillacs, and one Chevrolet Corvette, on the lot. The total value of the stolen parts was $24,000.00
On Monday, January 11, 2010, Columbia Police officers investigated a report of stolen wheels and tires from the lot of Bob McCosh Chevrolet, located at #1 East Business Loop 70, in Columbia. In this case, wheels and tires were stolen from three Chevrolet Avalanches and five Chevrolet Tahoes. The total value of the stolen wheels and tires in this case was $21,440.00Investigators have received information that similar thefts may have occurred in the Metro Saint Louis area.
Police are contacting area car dealerships to warn them about the thefts and provide input on how to enhance security. Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to call the police department at 874-7652 or Crime Stoppers at 875-tips. North Bureau Commander, Captain Brad Nelson said, “Although these types of thefts are unusual, we will use every available resource to apprehend those responsible.”

DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
On 01/07/09, skeletal remains were located in a large homeless camp near the Conley Road and the I-70/63 connector. There was no identification found on this individual. A death investigation was initiated by the Major Crimes Unit.
During an examination by Boone/Callaway Medical Examiner’s Office, suspicious wounds were found to the face and neck area of the victim. The University of Missouri Department Of Anthropology was contacted and provided further examination of the skeletal remains. In addition, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Laboratory was utilized in this investigation.
Investigators were able to determine that the victim was possibly Mark D. Dailey. Investigators obtained DNA samples from family members who resided in Ohio.
02/27/09, DNA results proved the skeletal remains were those of Dailey. A death notification was made at that time to Dailey’s father.
On 04/20/09, the Medical Examiner’s Office released their findings. This incident is ruled a homicide and the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the face and stab wounds to his neck.

TYPE OF INCIDENT: Bank Robbery

INCIDENT LOCATION: 2711 West Broadway, Boone County National Bank
SUSPECT: White male, 5’05” to 5’06”, thin build, late 40’s early 50’s year of age, dark tan complexion, wearing blue jeans, black long-sleeve sweatshirt with hood, wearing large-framed sun glasses, armed with a medium framed semi-automatic handgun, silver in color
DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
Columbia Police Officers responded to a bank hold-up alarm on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 3:25 PM at the Boone County National Bank located at 2711 West Broadway.
Responding officers were advised that the facility had been robbed by a suspect as described above. No one was injured in the robbery and there were no customers in the facility at the time of the robbery.
The suspect displayed the handgun demanding money and fled in a western direction from the bank.
A possible suspect vehicle is described as a small red Chevrolet S-10 or Ford Ranger style pick-up.
Anyone having information on the robbery is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department or CRIMESTOPPERS.

Unsolved Homicide 1 Image
On January 7, 2005, Dr. Jeong H. Im was murdered in a University of Missouri parking garage. This murder is unsolved to this day.

Burglary - Bass Pro 2 Images
On December 10, 2008 at 0118 hours, a burglary alarm was received at the Bass Pro Shop on 3100 Vandiver. Two suspects broke out a glass door to gain entry. The suspects did not steal anything once inside the store.
The two male suspects are described as follows:
Suspect #1 – Black Male in mid 20's wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with the words Miami written across it. Khaki cargo pants with black shoes.
Suspect #2 – Black male in mid 20's wearing a black zip front hoody with gray and white pocketed jeans.

Robbery - LaQuinta Inn 2 Images
On 11/20/08 at 1:52 AM, an employee of the LaQuinta Motel, 2500 I-70 Drive Southwest, reported an attempted robbery.
Two black males entered the motel and one was armed with a handgun. The victim, a 49 year-old male, attempted to disarm the suspect and a struggle ensued. During this struggle, the victim was struck on the back of the head with an unknown object.
The suspects ordered the victim to unlock a drawer which contained currency. The victim was unable to do so and the suspects fled on foot without gaining any property.
The suspects were described as follows:
Suspect #1 – Light skinned black male with short hair, approx. 6' tall and weighing 160 pounds. Last seen wearing a black hoody.
Suspect #2 – Light skinned black male , approx. 5'9” and weighing 150 pounds. Last seen wearing a black hoody.

INCIDENT LOCATION: 202 N. Stadium Blvd.VICTIM: First National Bank 202 N. Stadium Blvd.
SUPSECT: Approximately 50 yoa w/m 5’6”, Thin Build Scruffy Beard
DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
On 09/23/08 at 1617 hours, the First National Bank located at 202 N. Stadium Blvd. was robbed by the above described suspect. This suspect did not display a weapon but demanded money via a note. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot.
The suspect was wearing a dark shirt, blue jeans, white shoes, dark hat and sunglasses at the time of the robbery.
This robbery appears to be committed by the same suspect that robbed the Boone County National Bank, 2711 W. Broadway on 08/29/08.
Two surveillance photos are attached to this press release and we are asking the publics assistance in identifying the suspect.

INCIDENT LOCATION: 2711 W. Broadway, Boone County National BankDETAILS OF INCIDENT:
On 08-29-08 at 1:33 PM, Columbia Police Officers responded to a bank alarm at Boone County National Bank. Prior to the officer’s arrival, the employees of the bank reported the bank had been robbed. The suspect entered the bank, displayed a robbery note, implied that he had a weapon, but did not display one. The teller gave an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect who left the bank on foot in a southwest direction.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 40’s, approx. 5’06- 5’08 and a thin build. The suspect has dark brown hair, a sun tanned face and was unshaven. The suspect is described as wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans, a white baseball cap with lettering on the front, dark thick framed sunglasses and an “Ironman” type watch on his left arm.
